Diets-yuck

Well, I failed my glucose screening. I even fasted beforehand, but got the bad news anyway. So I get to be on a diet.

I am definitely wavering between "this is great, I'm forced to eat healthy!" and "but it's not fair... I don't have time to think this much about food."

But I'll survive.... I think!

Be of good cheer my friend : ) I failed mine too, both times. The Doc told me I will probably always fail it...great encouragment, huh?!
Anyway, It is a great "diet" to be on. I definitly felt great that week and have continued being on it (for the most part) b/c I can tell it really is helping me feel better. Anyway, just a note of advice, pack yourself a snack to eat before you drive yourself home from the 3 hour test. I had to pull the car over b/c I was feeling so weak and on a sugar high that I was on the verge of passing out. That drink is SO extremly sugary, even more so than the first one!

welcome to the club (although you got to hear my complaints when I was on it)! : ) The first few days are more high maintanence and then it gets more automatic - so hang in there!

Sugarfree jello was my life saver when I absolutely felt like eating something yet wasn't suppose to (it's kind of embarressing the amount of sugarfree jello I went through now that I think about it!)

I also took a bunch of fun magazines when I had my extended test - helped pass the time sitting in the hospital lobby for hours! All for a good cause!!

What a bummer! I've been on a sugar free diet before because of my hypoglycemia. Ask Aunt Eva for her honey carob chip cookie recipe. It is suprisingly good! Those cookies got me through my sugar free time. Although they obviously have natural sugar in honey and I don't know how strict your diet is, but maybe they can help! I hope your next test goes better!
